My robot has sinews
Hanging from his teeth
Blood greases his jaws
My robot
He runs on meat
My neighbors call
When they catch him lurking
In the shadows near their homes
And they look out their windows
And gasp as they see
My robot
Feeding at night
He plays with the children
During the day
Lifting them up to dunk
But sometimes they flinch
When he leaps toward a squirrel
Imagining
That it was their cat
My robot has sensors
Coming out of his head
They pick up signals from our brains
He sits by my bedside
As I fall asleep
And he shudders
Then dreams he could cry
